Yes, It's A Cute Kitten Picture

Not long ago I answered my doorbell to see the little girl from the next house standing there with a tiny white creature in her hands. She wanted to know if I'd lost one of my kittens. No, I assured her, they were all accounted for.

Turns out she'd found this one in the back alley. A quick look turned up what were likely her brothers and sisters, all expired, all clumped together near a garbage bag out of which this little white one had apparently chewed her way.

Naturally, we took her in.

Our other cats didn't seem to mind, there was none of the usual grumbling and acting out that happens when a new cat is found, born or wanders in the back door and never leaves (don't laugh, it's happened!). She lived on cream and supplements that the vet gave me, she slept in a little shoe box lined with an old towel. She slept a lot. A lot. We worried about her.

Then one day she decided to wake up, stretched an elegant little ballet, bit the bit black cat on the tail and chased down a sunbeam. We call her Allie. Or sweetums. Or cutie. Or, lately, psycho kitty.
