What A Finished Manuscript Looks Like
I'm sure that my publisher, Wiley, had moments where the people involved with my book sat around a table in a meeting room and looked at each other and said, "That woman is crazy." And they would have been right. I always thought that the expression "blood, sweat and tears" was overused and overplayed. That it was the result of too many late night poetry readings and not enough iron in the diet. But really, it's a good one. Here I am, done my book, and it was by all accounts a process of blood, sweat and tears.
And adds a new dimension to another common expression: Be careful what you wish for. Well, I wished.
Okay, whining aside, I'm more excited about this than I can remember being about anything else (experiences related to my children withstanding) in my life. I love the way the book turned out, I love all the people who helped out, I love whole thing. The cover is not yet finalized but it's called Create Your Own Photo Blog and I will have an Amazon listing to share with you soon. It will be available in book stores and online and will be released in April 2006. How cool is that?
Pretty big deal to me but I don't want to be all braggy about it (which is a weird dilemma, I must say) because, honestly, it was through the efforts and assistance and contributions of a lot of other photo bloggers and photographers that it got done. I was a lot like an information co-ordinator, a lot of the time. It was challenging and exhausting and I am very glad that I did it.
Okay, now I have to go buy some Christmas presents and a suitcase. Talk about getting in *just* under the wire.
